Our Story
We met as teenagers and instantly bonded through our shared passion for music. Before long, we were spending countless hours playing and singing together, simply because we loved it.
Over time, we realized that when we performed together, it was more than just music and lyrics. People connected with our chemistry, the blending of our voices, and our love for music and each other.
Today we bring that same authenticity to each wedding, party, and event. Just our two voices and a guitar, creating a rich sound that feels warm, polished, and remarkably full.
The Inspiration Behind Our Names
Gus & Jean aren't our names. They're the names of the two people who played a much bigger role in our story than they ever could have imagined.
The original Gus and Jean, one of our sets of grandparents, were the reason we met when we were just teenagers. We immediately became best friends and fell in love, and we recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.
When it came time to name our acoustic duo, Gus & Jean felt like the perfect choice. Not only because they brought us together, but because the qualities we admired in them are what we strive to bring to every event, warmth, kindness, simplicity, and a unique way of making people feel comfortable and welcome.
Our Approach
We've always been drawn to music that feels timeless. Songs that make people smile, sing along, look at each other and say, "I love this song!"
Songs from artists like James Taylor, Carole King, Whitney Houston, Alison Krauss, Ed Sheeran and countless others have a way of instantly transporting you to a different place and time.
